Social Justice and Outreach

A vital part of our call as Catholics is to serve the poor and vulnerable among us. With that goal in mind, we have many programs, ministries, and opportunities to engage with our brothers and sisters both here in our parish and those in our community who are in need.

New Bethlehem Project (2)

New Bethlehem Project recognizes Christ’s call to serve the poor by being a driving force to meet the urgent, unmet need for a year-round Day Center for families who are experiencing homelessness on the Eastside.

The New Bethlehem Project has two primary goals:

  • Provide a day center for families experiencing homelessness on the Eastside who need a warm, safe place to stay with essential services such as showers, laundry, computers, social services, and meals.
  • Expand the existing overnight Emergency Winter Shelter to provide year-round services (currently closed for 6 months).

Project Updates

  • We have almost reached our first phase goal of $500,000!!!  As of last week, we have collected $443,247.98
  • Don’t forget, many companies will match donations.  If you are not sure if your company matches, please contact Andrea at the Parish Office.

Winter Shelter Meals

The Family Winter Shelter and Women’s Winter Shelter open on October 15 and the Men’s Winter Shelter on Nov. 15.   Please consider joining with friends and family and providing a hot meal or two over the season to these neighbors in need.   Click on the link to find out all the details.

Thank you!

Thanksgiving Community Dinner

We are planning our 6th annual Holy Family Thanksgiving Community Dinner! If you would like to volunteer to help, please email

Shared Blessings Meal Ministry

What is the Meals Ministry?  The Meals Ministry provides meals to members of our parish during a time of need (i.e. new baby, illness, death in the family, etc.).  These are the perfect times to reach out to others as a parish, and we want to be able to offer this help more often.  Feeding the hungry is one of the corporal works of mercy!

How can I help?  We are looking for volunteers to provide these meals.  Volunteers will receive an email when someone is requesting meals, and then would have the option to sign up for a date they are available to cook and deliver dinner.

I’d love to help, but I’m so busy.  This is a perfect opportunity if you want to get involved but aren’t able to attend meetings, or commit to anything on a regular basis.  Just get on our email list, and help out whenever you can!  If you can’t help right now, stay on the email list and maybe you can help out next time around.

I’d love to help, but my budget is tight.  Having people to make and deliver the food is the most important part of this ministry.  If you would like to help but can’t fit it in your budget, we can occasionally supplement the cost.

I am in need of this help!  If you could use meals, please contact us.  We want to provide you with food during your time of need.  Many of us have been recipients of this kind of help, and know how invaluable it was to us.  We want to show you the same love that was shown to us.

Yes, I will help!  For more information, please contact Christina Jones.
